Creekwood Hotel is centrally located in midtown Anchorage to give you quick and easy access to everything our excellent city has to offer.
In addition to nearby downtown, we’re also situated next the Chester Creek Trail, a vast greenbelt wilderness that’s perfect for nature walks, running, biking, cross-country skiing and even dog mushing!
Right down the road you’ll find the Sears Shopping Mall, Carrs Supermarket and a large selection of restaurants and entertainment options, including movie theaters and the Sullivan Arena.
Steeped in Alaskan history
Creekwood Hotel has proudly served visitors and Alaskan residents for over 50 years.
We are not a part of a large hotel chain nor are we a franchise property. The business is owned and operated by an Alaskan family with roots in Alaska going back to the Gold Rush Era. This family has played a pivotal role in developing and shaping Alaska’s visitor industry since the 1940s.
Creekwood Hotel’s building structure withstood the great 1964 earthquake. At that time it was called “Hillside on Gambell,” and the name was changed to Creekwood Hotel in 2002, when our current owners bought the property. They have since reshaped and made several upgrades, including the most recent remodeling of rooms and the bathhouse in 2013.
Both new and returning guests have offered tons of positive feedback on the remodel and welcome the change in the decor and atmosphere of our rooms. And they still tell us we’re the best value in town!

Creekwood Hotel’s staff is Alaskan. We deeply love our Alaska home and enjoy sharing our local knowledge and insider tips with you.
